The Daily Buzz 🐝

What are your hours of operation?

1

Our facility is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

What is the daily drop-off and pick-up procedure?

2

Drop-off is between 6:30 AM and 9:30 AM, depending on what schedule you enroll in. From 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM, caregivers are buzzed in to drop children with a teacher in the lobby. After 8:30 AM, caregivers of infants (6 weeks–18 months) may walk them to the classroom door, while older children are escorted to class by a staff member. At pick-up, your child will be brought to the lobby once you buzz in.

Do you provide meals or snacks?

3

Families are asked to provide a daily lunch and snack for their children. We are a nut-free facility and ask that you do not send sugary drinks or snacks. We recommend nutritious options like yogurt, fruit, or cheese.

What should my child wear to the Hive?

4

Please dress your child in practical clothing that allows for movement and is appropriate for the weather, as we play outside daily. For safety, all drawstrings must be removed, and sandals or flip-flops are not permitted for play.

Do you allow screen time in the Hive?

5

At Little Bumble Bee, we believe in the power of active, hands-on discovery! We do not use television or video games in our daily curriculum. Instead, our "little bees" spend their time engaged in sensory play, storytelling, arts and crafts, and outdoor exploration to spark their natural curiosity.

Will I receive updates on my child’s day?

6

Yes! Communication is key to a strong hive. For all children under 18 months, we provide comprehensive daily reports at the end of the day. These include detailed notes on their eating habits (what and how much), bathroom/diapering schedules, and sleep times, so you never miss a moment of their routine.

Safety & Health in the Hive 🧼

What is your sick policy?

1

Children must stay home if they have a fever of 100.3Β°F or higher and may only return once they are 24 hours fever-free without medication. For vomiting or diarrhea, children must wait 48 hours after the last episode before returning. Detailed return-to-school timelines for other illnesses like Strep or Flu are outlined in our full handbook.

How do you handle food allergies?

2

If your child has a diagnosed allergy, we require an Individual Allergy and Anaphylaxis Emergency Plan and a Medication Consent Form signed by a pediatrician. Allergy lists are posted in classrooms, and all staff are trained to use epinephrine auto-injectors.

Is the facility secure?

3

Yes. Our facility doors are locked at all times. Entrance is only permitted for authorized individuals who must be buzzed in from the front desk.

What are the staff-to-child ratios and class sizes?

4

We maintain safe, intimate class sizes to ensure every child receives the "honey-sweet" attention they deserve. Our ratios are:

  • The Nursery (Under 18 months): 8 children to 2 teachers. πŸ‘Ά

  • Toddlers: 10 children to 2 teachers. 🧸

  • Preschool: 14 children to 3 teachers. πŸ“š

How are your teachers trained?

5

The safety of our Hive is our absolute priority. To ensure a secure environment, every single staff member at Little Bumble Bee is required to be CPR and First Aid certified. Our educators also participate in ongoing professional development to stay at the forefront of early childhood safety and education.
